This carving by Wayland Namingha, Jr. is the Mooyaw (Moon) Katsina who represents our grandfather moon. Keeping our earth aligned with our father sun.

Wayland Namingha, Jr. was taught by his father, the late Wayland Namingha Sr. He was a carver of contemporary katsina art. Wayland Jr has been carving now for over 10 years and his work has improved such that there is character about them. He said "they seem to have a bit of emotion when you hold them."
