Michael Kellett and Crispin Wilson will speak about “Prehistoric Obsidian Exchange in West-Central Arizona” and link this with Crispin Wilson’s discoveries related to "Arizona Ballcourts as Revealed through Photogrammetry and Ceramic Analysis."
Crispin Wilson earned his MA in archaeology from Northern Arizona University and currently works as Field Director for Envirosystems Management. In the recent past he worked as archaeologist at Canyon de Chelly and Grand Canyon. He has published his thesis and other research in the Journal of Arizona Archaeology.
Michael Kellett, MA, RPA, has worked as public archaeologist for 25 years recording cultural and historic resources around the Southwest for the BLM and the USFS. He held the position of supervisor of the Heritage Program on Prescott National Forest and has assisted the VVAC with obsidian studies at sites in the Verde Valley. In addition, he holds a red card as fire archaeologist, and has worked as fire line resource advisor and burned area response specialist for over 20 years.
