Join Verde Valley Archaeology Center and Richard McGaugh October 17 for a 3 mile walk to the edge and along Rattlesnake Canyon. This hike offers fantastic views of the Red Rocks and the depth of the Basaltic Flows at the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau. We will see prehistoric architecture and walk along one of the earliest routes used to access the Verde Valley.

This hike will be limited to 12 individuals, be prepared with walking sticks if preferred, sturdy shoes, water, snacks and or Picnic lunch. The Terrain is level but a rocky walk!

We will meet on the west side of the Stoneman Lake exit off highway 17 at 10 o’clock.

Richard is from a fourth-generation Verde Valley family and has spent his time studying and exploring Central and Northern Arizona. Richard volunteers as a Verde Valley Archaeology Center “Docent”, He is a “VIP Interpretative Ranger” at Walnut Canyon National Monument and Wupatki/ Sunset Crater National Monuments, and a Museum of Northern Arizona “Docent”.
