Instructed by Dr. Jim Graceffa, this hands-on class located at VVAC is being offered again due to popular demand! In this class you will learn about the pottery and ceramics made in the Verde Valley. Recognize which pottery is Indigenous to the Verde Valley, and which pottery is intrusive. Including what it means to present-day archaeologists and how the public should treat pottery and sherds when seen in the field and at cultural sites.

Dr. Jim Graceffa is one of the founding members of VVAC and served as the museum's Board President from 2010 to 2019. Additionally, Jim has been the past President of the Arizona Archaeological Society Verde Valley Chapter, a Site Steward with Arizona State Parks & Trails, and continues his commitment to VVAC by serving as the museum's Volunteer Archaeology Lab Manager.
